I had never heard of him but he was pretty dayum good. His mentor was BB King & he used to jam with the Allman Brothers & Marshall Tucker. The link will take you to one of his songs. If you like there are others there for your pleasure. I will warn you that it is Southern Blues (I know that shocks you)[em]wub[/em] For those of you brave enough to listen, what did you think???[em]thumbup[/em][em]w00t[/em]
Billy Powell, 56, original keyboardist for the Southern rock group Lynyrd Skynyrd died Tuesday night of a possible heart attack. The original band came together in 1973. Several members of the band died in a plane crash in 1977 including the lead singer Ronnie Van Zant. Ronnie's brother Johnny reformed the band in 1987 with the surviving members of the original group.Free Bird &Sweet Home Alabama were their two most notable songs. In my opinion, Lynyrd Skynyrd & Marshall Tucker were the two GREATEST Southern Rock bands of ALL time!!! Please tell me your memories of Lynyrd Skynyrd.
