| | | Crank it up! Find Counting Crows Records and more here! | myLot Discussions on Counting Crows Records| Ever been to a Counting Crows concert?? | | They are awesome live! They really expand and elaborate on each and every song and it's so great to listen to. Sometimes I wish they'd do a live album just to remember those versions. I saw them with Goo Goo Dolls last year. | |
| | accidentalyy inlove by counting crows | | i really love this song, i usually play this song every morning before i start my work. i feel more relaxed when i hear this song. its really nice. its a theme song in the movie shrek. | |
| | Counting Crows | | Do you like Counting Crows? I had almost every single one of their CD's while I was in high school but haven't listened to them recently - I just found one of my old CD's (This Desert Life) - and I still like them:) | |
| | Don't you wish you had your own theme song? | | It would play wherever you went, whatever room you went in and so forth. I'd like my theme song to be "Mr. Jones" by the Counting Crows. It's so easy to relate to that song. Plus, it never gets old. | |
| | | Celebrities making a difference | | My husband and I went to a concert last night, which I've mentioned in other discussions.
We left before it had completely ended, but as we were leaving, Adam Duritz, the lead singer for Counting Crows was telling the audience about all the things they were doing on this tour. First of all it's a "Green Tour". They're neutrilizing the carbon emissions to make their entire tour more energy efficient.. as well as some other things which you can read about on the website here..http://www.reverbrock.org/M5CC/greening.htmBut what really got me is how these bands are promoting LOCAL non-profit charities in each of the cities they visit. They chose a couple of organizations in our local community to promote at the concert, and mentioned each one. They also had booths for these charities at the concert. I just think that is so awesome that not only are they helping a charity, they are helping charities in our communities, not just theirs. That's really going to make a difference for our neighbors! I just love it when celebrities use their fame and celebrity power to bring awareness to things like this... don't you?
| | I mistakingly assumed we'd get good seats! | | Well, when I won these concert tickets from the radio station, I assumed they'd be great seats. I'm not sure why, I just assumed that the radio station gave out better seats.
The venue we went to was rather interesting. There was a rather small seating area, and directly above that was a balcony seating area. Behind that was a "lawn area". No seats on the lawn area, you basically bring a chair and first come, first serve. It was still a decent view, and the lawn area was entirely hill, so it wasn't too bad so far as people getting in your way.
We weren't really expecting this, so we didn't bring chairs. Most times they will arrange seating for these type concerts, but not this venue.
It was a bit disappointing at first, especially since the lawn area was completely covered in mud due to recent rain.. but we enjoyed ourselves anyways.
I can't complain too much. We spent a total of $60 (mostly on gas and tolls) to see Maroon 5 and Counting Crows perform!! And we got a night away from the kids.
Have you ever been slightly disappointed in free tickets you recieved from a contest or something else?
| | | Can you enjoy a concert if you've never heard the songs? | | So last night hubby and I went to a Maroon 5 w/ Counting Crows concert. We had a blast and feel so lucky to have been able to see these 2 great bands live.
Counting Crows was the last act. Basically the only Counting Crows songs I know are the ones that are played on the radio.. and this is a band that likes to just flat out JAM. They would start a song, then half way through it, it would appear as if the singer, Adam Duritz, got side tracked and began singing a different song.. partially talking.. it's rather hard to explain. But then at the end of the song he'd go back to the original song he had been singing and finish it right. The only song they did beginning to end with no interruption was Mr. Jones... and half of the audience left after that. We stayed for a few songs after that, but we didn't know any of them, and he kept "jamming" in the middle of the songs, which seemed to make the songs last forever. I guess a lot of people like that sort of thing... but we ended up leaving before the end of the act. We weren't really enjoying the concert anymore when we didn't know any of the songs, plus we'd been there 4 hours already, so we were tired and worried about the...
| | Radio station contests? | | Do your radio stations do contests? Have you ever won anything from a radio station contest?Today I was adding some music to my MP3 player, and I was going to show my husband how I can pick up radio stations with it as well. So I turned it to the radio station, and just at that moment they said the 10th caller would win concert tickets. So my husband picked up the phone and dialed, and after 1 or 2 tries he hands it to me and says it's ringing. I thought nothing of it, figured nobody would answer, or I'd be caller 9 or something. Well the guy picks up and says I'm the right caller! I won tickets to see Counting Crows and Maroon 5 this Tuesday!! I can't believe it!Now we're trying to find a sitter so we can go, LOL. | |
